Hardesty Leadership Center

Reflecting Girl Scouts’ heritage and modern approach to leadership development, the Hardesty Leadership Center incorporates symbols that represent the ideals of Girl Scouts.

Sash: One of Girl Scouts most iconic symbols, the green sash, adorns the exterior of the Hardesty Leadership Center. An architectural feat, the sash stands 80 feet long and 19 feet high – with a total weight of just over 4000 pounds.

Bridging: Since the beginning, the Girl Scout Promise and Law have been the foundation of Girl Scouts.  Above our lobby is a walkway which contains phrases from the Girl Scout Law and can be used for bridging ceremonies – marking the transition in a Girl Scout’s life – when she becomes aware of her achievements and is ready for new adventures and responsibilities.

Nancy Feldman Terrace: Wood-grain tile, natural stone, and wood veneers reflect Girl Scouts’ passion for the outdoors. Round tiles create a stone-like path leading from our front door to the beautiful Nancy Feldman Terrace, which includes a fire pit, bridge and water feature. The Nancy Feldman Terrace is a great outdoor gathering space for our troops.

The Girl Gathering Room: The cheeriest space in the Hardesty Leadership Center! The Girl Gathering Room contains colors inspired by Girl Scout Cookie boxes, our mission statement, and chosen by Girl Scouts, the lyrics to “Make New Friends.”  Modern smaller furniture and a coffee-shop vibe truly make this a space for all girls!

Volunteers: Volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and in Girl Scouts it is not uncommon to see generations of Girl Scouts who are troop leaders! Our Volunteer Workroom is a great space for our volunteers to come together to plan activities and share ideas!

Museum: The Gale Clark Girl Scout Museum brings the history and traditions connected to Oklahoma’s Girl Scout Movement to life. Through rotating displays featuring items from our archives, it showcases the importance Girl Scouts has had for generations of Oklahoma girls, their families, and our communities!
