LEARNING BY DOING. This course adds to girl’s knowledge and skills learned in Canoe Level 1 by introducing the maneuvers needed to paddle on moving water (rivers). The course includes learning to catch large eddies, performing simple ferries, recognizing and avoiding hazards, performing rescues and responding to emergencies on moving water. Girls will be paddling down the river while they learn.

Who: Girl Scouts in grades 7-12 who have completed Canoe Level 1: Introduction to Canoeing.

Fee: $25.00. A nonrefundable deposit of $10.00 is due with registration. You may request up to $15.00 of Cookie Credit or Financial Assistance for this activity.

Prerequisites: Girls must have completed Canoe Level 1: Introduction to Canoeing.

Volunteer Coordinator: Roger Merkel.

Adults Needed: At least one female adult will be needed to help with meal preparation and overnight ratio for this activity. Please to volunteer. Adults must be registered members and have a current Volunteer Application and Background Check on file.

Additional Information: A supply list will be provided prior to the activity.
