Join the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma and register now for our inaugural THIN MINT SPRINT on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Participants will have a blast as they choose between a 5K run or a 1 mile fun run. After the event, we will have a post race party with super fun activities, a DJ, inflatables, obstacle course, Girl Scout Cookies, and more!
What is the Thin Mint Sprint?
This 5K fun run/walk is an opportunity for all runners, first-time racers, Girl Scouts, and families to celebrate healthy living! The 5K race begins at 9:00 a.m. at Camp Tallchief on Zink Ranch. This is not a timed race. Feel free to pace yourself and clock it on your watch!
The 1 mile fun run is open to all as well, even strollers! It will begin at 10:00 a.m. So grab the whole family and get ready to “Live Healthy, Lead Healthy!” (No pets are allowed. Sorry!)
What are Tagalongs and Cheer Squad?
Tagalongs and Cheer Squad are those who want to be part of this great day without running in the race or joining the "Live Healthy, Lead Healthy Fit Challenge." Any child that comes as a tagalong must be supervised at all times, including during the race by a non-participating adult.
How much is the entry fee? What comes with it?
There is a flat $20.00 entry fee for all participants in Kindergarten and older. With this registration, each participant is registered in the Fit Challenge and will receive a t-shirt, Challenge Workbook, and incentives along the way! Those not yet in Kindergarten are free, but will not receive the Challenge Packet.
If I cannot be there on September 13, how can I participate? Are fees refundable?
We encourage you to be a “virtual runner” and join us in spirit! Register now to get your packet, then throw your t-shirt on and run when it is convenient for you! Fees are non-refundable, but in the event that you are unable to be present on race day, you will still receive the Challenge Packet and be able to participate all year long ... including being a virtual runner anywhere you desire.
Where and when do I pick up my race packet?
Packets can be picked up at the location of your choice (listed on the registration form) on September 9. Packets will NOT be mailed out, but there is an option to pick up on the day of the race.
What is a race packet?
A race packet contains your t-shirt, patch, Challenge Workbook and a few surprises!
What time should I arrive for the race?
For the 5K, we encourage you to arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. If you are doing the 1 mile fun run, please arrive by 9:00 a.m.
Where do I park on race day?
Parking will be available at Camp Tallchief. There will be GSEOK council representatives giving parking directions on site. Please watch for signage and people!
What should I bring to the race?
Wear your t-shirt and bring your running legs! Get together with your troop and/or family and add your own personal touch (Tutus, crazy socks, face paint, etc.)!
What about water? Restrooms?
Water will be available along the course and there will be restrooms at the start/end of the race.
What happens after the race?
After the race, we will celebrate! Linger a little longer at camp, nibble on Girl Scout Cookies, browse the area, learn about healthy living, and play with your friends!
