The Juliette Low Leadership Society (JLLS) is excited to announce that twelve Girl Scouts from across eastern Oklahoma have been selected to receive $1,500 higher education scholarships.

These scholarship recipients were chosen from 43 applicants during a lengthy selection process. Each girl’s application was reviewed by a scholarship committee based on financial need, leadership and service in Girl Scouts, activities in their school, community and church and essay quality. Sixteen finalists then participated in personal interviews with committee members, and twelve total Girl Scouts were selected as scholarship recipients. The following recipients will be recognized by the Juliette Low Leadership Society at the celebration luncheon at Southern Hills Country Club on April 18.

"The Juliette Low Leadership Society is pleased to be able to increase each recipient’s award amount by $500 this year,” said Julie Smith, Major Sponsor Chair for JLLS. "With the rising cost of education, we recognize that it takes additional community support for many of our Girl Scouts to afford to pursue their dreams.”

The scholarships are made possible by the generous support from: Sunrise Rotary Club of Tulsa, the Janet C. Zink Fund, and the Juliette Low Leadership Societies in Tulsa, Bartlesville, McAlester, and Stillwater.
