Tulsa World: Tulsa-area Girl Scouts pick up 445,000 boxes of cookies ahead of sale

Before the Thin Mints, Samoas and Savannah Smiles make their way to a cookie jar near you, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma have to pick them up by the truckload.

No, seriously, by the truckload ... or trailer, mini-van or U-Haul depending on your preference.

More than 300 Girl Scout troops from the Tulsa metro area descended on a Broken Arrow warehouse Saturday to pick up this year’s supply of cookies for their sale, which starts Feb. 2.
