COVID-19 Guidelines

Acknowledgement of Receipt and Understanding. All participants of Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma acknowledge that COVID-19 is a contagious virus that spreads through person-to-person contact. As with any social activity, participation in a Girl Scout event could present the risk of contracting COVID-19. While GSEOK takes every safety and preventative precaution, GSEOK can in no way warrant that COVID-19 infection will not occur through participation in GSEOK events.

Pre-screening and Symptoms Check. Prior to arriving in-person at Timber Oaks, all guests should be screened to ensure:

  • you are healthy and you have not experienced symptoms that are associated with COVID-19 in the previous 72 hours.
  • you have not knowingly been in contact with someone that has exhibited symptoms or has been confirmed positive with COVID-19 or a person waiting to see if they are positive.

Face Coverings. Masks are highly encouraged to be worn when inside a building or outdoors where social distancing of 6ft or more cannot be maintained. GSEOK will place tables at appropriate social distance and provide sanitizing stations including COVID-19 prevention items such as hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol), disposable facemasks, and disinfectants.

Reporting and Communicating a Positive COVID-19 Test. In the event of a COVID-19 positive test result, promptly contact the Oklahoma COVID-19 Hotline at 877-215-8336 to initiate an anonymous contact tracing by the Department of Health Services.

2021 Cancellations Due to COVID-19. If you are ill or have been in contact with someone who is ill causing you to be ineligible to attend Pearls on the Prairie, you have the following choices:

  • Donate all or a portion of payment to Camp Wah-Shah-She.
  • At your request, we will refund all payments.

In recent years, funds from our Pearls on the Prairie event have contributed to a new pool, repairs to the covered wagon sleeping quarters, and two telescopes for viewing the night sky. This year, funds will support an observatory, which will be used during troop campouts for astronomy badge activities. We are looking forward to having this opportunity of expanding girls’ understanding and wonder of the natural universe.
