However, some girls face barriers to participating in traditional troops, such as limited transportation, financial resources, or the lack of positive role models.
That’s why we’ve created our Staff-Led Girl Scout Troops —to break down these barriers and ensure all girls have access to the empowering Girl Scout experience. Through partnerships with schools, community centers, and other youth-serving organizations, our trained, paid staff lead troops right where the girls are—at school or after-school programs—making Girl Scouts more accessible than ever before.
In our staff-led programs, girls engage in activities such as weekly meetings to explore their passions, develop valuable skills, and make new friends. Through these experiences, they build self-esteem, cultivate positive values, and enhance their problem-solving confidence—laying a strong foundation for success that will last a lifetime
Thanks to the generosity of our corporate and foundation partners, we can offer these programs at no cost to families, removing the financial barrier to participation. Girls in staff-led troops can thrive, regardless of their circumstances, and continue their journey to leadership and empowerment.
