Celebrate Faith
Girl Scouts has long standing traditions of celebrating with faith communities during Girl Scout Week to support membership retention, foster membership growth by sharing the benefits of Girl Scouting with faith families, recognize girls in their place of worship as Girl Scouts, and thank faith partners for their support.
Girl Scouts Celebrate Faith observances can be celebrated by any faith group. In general, Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat) extends from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday, the Christian holy day is Sunday, and the Muslim holy day is Friday. In 2021, the celebration dates for these faith traditions are:
- Girl Scout Sunday (Christian)—Sunday, March 7, 2021 Girl Scout Sunday
- Girl Scout Jummah (Muslim)—Friday, March 12, 2021 Girl Scout Jummah
- Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat (Jewish)—Friday/Saturday, March 12–13, 2021 Girl Scout Sabbath
Wear your uniform on these special days and sit with your fellow Girl Scouts during your worship time! We would love to see pictures of you celebrating your faith! Send photos to myfaith@gseok.org.
