SPECIAL HEALTH/MEDICAL NEEDS are accommodated when possible. At this time, we are not equipped, nor do we have specialized staff, to provide care for a wide array of special medical needs. If your camper has a specific need, please contact us in advance, and we’ll work together for a possible solution and/or to determine availability. Some special needs we ARE able to accommodate include epilepsy, insulin-dependent diabetes, asthma, and most food allergies.
All of our programs are driven by the Girl Scout Journeys, meaning the curriculum is proven to develop leadership skills while having fun. Additionally, GSEOK’s camping program is one of only two ACA-accredited camps in Oklahoma just for girls.
The Troop House – Tulsa
In the middle of the city is a haven … the Girl Scout Troop House! Once you are inside the protective fence, you feel like you’re out in the country. It’s both a troop camping site (great for first time overnight experiences on the weekend) and is available for special activities (badge workshops, ceremonies, cookouts and hikes) during the week. The grounds are heavily wooded and even have trails!
Eaton Lodge – Cushing
Have you ever wanted to “camp” in a park? Well, you can! Located in a city park, Eaton Lodge has charcoal grills throughout the park as well as playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts, and a nearby recreation center. There’s even a water park within walking distance! The lodge is available for meetings and one-night overnights.
Camp Tallchief – North of Sand Springs
There’s no place like camp! Our summer resident camps are all right here at Camp Tallchief. From waterfront to archery, a wide variety of activities can be enjoyed here. Both the pool and horses are available seasonally. The main lodge has a commercial kitchen, sleeping quarters, and a large dining hall. A variety of cabins are scattered throughout the property. Both Tallchief and Swannie are secure, fully fenced properties. Tallchief is closed to troop camping while resident camp is in session and is reserved for service unit campouts in spring and fall.
Camp Swannie – North of Sand Springs
You can sleep in jail at Camp Swannie! You can also sleep in covered wagons or other buildings in the old time village, go grab a colorful yurt, or nestle in to the “tree house.” The retreat center has a kitchen, sleeping space, and meeting area all under one roof. Since it is adjacent to Camp Tallchief, all the amenities there are within easy hiking distance. The pond along the way is a great place to fish or to reflect at sunset.
Camp Wah-Shah-She – Southwest of Bartlesville
Once Osage Indian land, Camp Wah-Shah-She (which means “Osage” in the tribal language) is the perfect place for adventure and nature study. In addition to the lodge and conference center, platform tents are a popular place to sleep! Enjoy the swimming pool, archery range, lake, and sprawling 460 acres with your troop or large group or even family. Wah-Shah-She can also be rented by community groups for camps or events.
