TULSA, OK - Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma’s (GSEOK) announced this week that Kate Columbia has joined the organization as the new Chief Mission Delivery Officer. Columbia has a strong operations and entrepreneurial background, with experience managing a 65-member team. She moved to Tulsa in 2020 and took time to stay home with her newborn son before joining the George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF). While with GKFF she helped start two new non-profit organizations, Experience Tulsa where she was Head of Operations, and InTulsa where she was the Head of Products. Prior to moving to Tulsa, Kate started a thriving small business in New York City, which survived the pandemic, and was eventually sold to a larger organization.
For more than a decade, Kate’s career has centered around building scalable systems, leading large teams through growth and change, and delivering mission-driven programs that improve lives. Whether leading operations for citywide initiatives, developing community programs, or designing equitable pathways for youth and families, Kate has consistently applied a leadership approach grounded in service, clarity, accountability, and deep respect for the communities we serve.
“I am particularly excited about the opportunity to work with the team to expand our mission delivery model—one that increases participation, strengthens volunteer engagement, and ensures consistent, enriching experiences for every girl across every community in Eastern Oklahoma,” says Kate. “My background in operations, program design, product strategy, DEI, evaluation, and cross-functional leadership has prepared me to partner with the team to build new systems, relationships, and programs to carry our 100+ year mission forward.”
“Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma has been fortunate to have wonderful mission delivery leadership over the years,” says Melissa Bogle, GSEOK CEO. “I believe that Kate is the right person at the right time as we continue to evolve as an organization committed to serving today’s girl. I can’t wait to see how she builds upon the successes of the past to create new experiences in our journey that builds girls of courage, confidence and character who will make our world a better place.”
Kate has two young children, a boy and a girl. She attended Arizona State University and graduated from Baruch College in New York. She is active in her faith community as the Sisterhood President for the Synagogue, Congregation of B’nai Emunah; on the Congregation B’nai Emunah Board and the of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa, Campaign Committee.
