About Blended Learning Courses:
Blended learning combines the convenience of online learning with a shortened practical skills session to meet both knowledge and skill objectives for learners and provides flexibility and self-control for the learner. Blended learning is an easy to use, self-directed, active experience that appeals to many volunteers. Advanced registration is required to provide ample time to complete the online portion prior to the class. Students and instructors can automatically receive email notification regarding enrollment, follow-up, and completion associated with the training program. After registration deadline is closed, you will receive a video link via email 12-14 days prior to the class with instructions on how to complete the online portion. This link will come from info@hsi.com and not from Girl Scouts so please remember to check your spam or junk folder. Students must successfully complete both the online and skills portions of Blended Training. Completion of the online portion alone will not result in a certification. The online portion must be completed prior to attending class. Failure to do so will remove the student from class and they will have to register and pay again for another class.
About GSEOK Safety Courses:
An adult who has taken GSUSA approved First Aid and CPR training and volunteers to provide safety services to a troop is a first aider. First aiders are required when troops participate in activities that need council approval. The Safety-Wise chapter of Volunteer Essentials discusses first aiders and defines who qualifies as a Level 1, Level 2, and Wilderness first aider.
