An Archery Level 1 Instructor works primarily within beginners to introduce the fundamentals of archery. These programs include Girl Scout day camps, troop activities, and council-sponsored events. Level 1 Archery Instructors are authorized to use Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma archery equipment and ranges with Girl Scouts in 2nd grade and above. This course covers essential safety practices, proper shooting form, and basic target archery skills, while highlighting the confidence, focus, and fun that make archery one of the fastest-growing sports.
Course requirements: Complete the USA Archery Level 1 Instruction Certification online course (may take up to 4 hours) and complete the in-person practical course.
Course content: Range safety, range set-up, basic equipment set-up and repair, and how to teach the basic steps of shooting.
Certification is valid for 3 years.
This course is for new instructors only. Instructors with current USA Archery certifications will receive an email from USA Archery within 30 days of their expiration date with instructions to renew the certification.
