Girl Scouts Take Flight: Kite Festival
Bring your troop, your family, and your creativity to our
first-ever Girl Scouts Take Flight: Kite Festival! During this
hands-on event, girls and adults will explore the science of flight,
engineer and build their own kites, and put their designs to the test
in our family kite-flying competition.
You'll learn about the forces that make kites soar-lift, drag, and thrust-while creating a colorful kite that's uniquely yours. Then, take to the field and see whose kite can fly the highest, show off the most creative design, or demonstrate the best teamwork!
This event is open to all Girl Scout families and troops. All materials are provided.
If attending as a troop, troops must have leadership present who completed the Beyond the Meeting training and an adult who has a current First Aid/CPR-training. Troops must follow all guidelines for trips outside the regular troop meeting, which includes permission slips, green sheets, and girl/adult ratio.
An individual girl may register with an attending caregiver.
