How far can your team launch a pumpkin? It's time to find out at Pumpkin Palooza: Pumpkin Chunkin!

Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts will take on a hands-on design and engineering challenge as they work in teams to build a wooden pumpkin launcher and prepare it for the ultimate test-the official Pumpkin Chunkin competition!

The challenge begins well before competition day. Each registered team will receive a build kit containing the necessary materials for their launcher. From there, it's up to your team to work together, problem-solve, build, test, and prepare your launcher for competition. Teams are responsible for storing and transporting their launcher throughout the challenge.

Want some extra time, tools, and expert support? Registered teams will have the opportunity to sign up for an optional build day at Fab Lab, where they can work alongside experts and access Fab Lab tools while working on their launcher. Participation is not required to compete. Build day dates and registration information will be shared closer to the event, with priority initially given to teams outside the Tulsa area.

On competition day, launchers should arrive mostly built and ready to go. Teams may transport their launcher in smaller sections and complete final assembly on-site. Teams can begin arriving as early as 11:00 a.m. for setup and assembly. Pumpkin Palooza opens at 2:00 p.m., and the official Pumpkin Chunkin competition begins at 3:00 p.m.

Additional information about competition rules, launcher requirements, build kits, optional Fab Lab work days, setup, and competition procedures will be sent to registered teams.
