This course features advanced camping skills, more complex fire building and outdoor cooking methods, knots and lashing, compasses, topographic maps, GPS and geocaching and is appropriate for leaders of Girl Scout Juniors or older. Participants will use buddy burners, vagabond stoves, bean hole cooking, lash a Chippewa Kitchen, make a distance computer to use on a map and compass hike, and learn how to make several camping gizmos, gadgets, and thingamajigs. Participants will select and set up a tent site in the great outdoors. It will give a leader the skills to complete the Gold Knot in the Outdoor Program Enrichment Patch Program with their girls.
Prerequisites: Prep, Troop Camper Training 1 & Overnight
