What if a Gold Award project could help feed both body and mind?
Josie M., a Girl Scout Senior from Bartlesville, created a 40-page cookbook designed for families who rely on the Mary Martha Outreach food pantry. Her project focuses on simple, nutritious meals that can be made from commonly distributed pantry items—making home cooking more accessible and less overwhelming for those in need.
In addition to easy-to-follow recipes, the cookbook includes helpful definitions and how-to guides for newer cooks. The project combines Josie’s love of cooking with her commitment to serving the community, and reflects the spirit of the Gold Award: identifying a real challenge and creating a sustainable, empowering solution.
