Hannah saw a need to preserve the downtown historic buildings in her hometown of Newkirk, Oklahoma. Many of the buildings were not getting the attention that they deserved. Wanting to bring awareness to the need of revitalizing the largest collection of limestone buildings in the state of Oklahoma, Hannah worked with the Main Street Director, architects, interior designers, and consultants to create a design plan and presentation for one of the buildings to show the potential of its future. Once the presentation was created, Hannah was able to present it to the building owner in hopes to spark an initiative in her hometown for other building owners to design and renovate their own buildings. With the knowledge gained from her Gold Award project, Hannah was able to successfully educate business owners, community leaders, and students.
