Witnessing the need for foster care families to have engaging activities while awaiting crucial appointments, Miriam embarked on a compassionate mission to create a nurturing outdoor space at the Joy Meadows Therapy Center in Linwood, Kansas. Recognizing the therapeutic benefits of nature and the importance of providing families with a serene environment to bond and unwind, Miriam collaborated closely with the center to develop a nature trail tailored to the needs of their clients and visitors.
Through tireless dedication and planning, Miriam orchestrated the creation of a nature trail complete with informative signage and user-friendly digital and physical maps, ensuring accessibility and ease of navigation for all. Her unwavering commitment to inclusivity and community engagement was further exemplified through her advocacy efforts, which included leading two impactful community activities aimed at raising awareness for her project and advocating for the foster care system.
Miriam has been a Girl Scout for 13 years and is a member of Troop 2612. She will graduate in May 2024. After High School, she plans on attending college and is narrowing down her field of study between Business and Engineering.
