Girl Scout cookie season isn’t just about Thin Mints and Tagalongs—it’s about what happens when girls are given space to lead.
This year, Girl Scout Virginia B. helped launch cookie season live on News On 6, standing alongside Celeste Franklin, GSEOK’s Director of Product Programs, to introduce the 2025 lineup to viewers across Eastern Oklahoma. With poise and personality, Virginia spoke about her favorite cookies (Samoas and Tagalongs, of course), and the confidence she’s gained through participating in the cookie program.
It was a proud moment—and a perfect example of what Girl Scouts means in action. Cookie season gives girls the tools to grow their skills, set meaningful goals, and build relationships in their communities. For Virginia, it meant stepping in front of a camera to represent thousands of Girl Scouts working toward their goals this season.
Behind the booths and boxes is a powerful learning experience. Girls like Virginia are gaining skills in money management, customer service, and problem solving. But they’re also discovering how to speak up, believe in themselves, and stay focused when things don’t go as planned.
Cookie proceeds stay local, supporting everything from troop projects and badgework to summer camp and service efforts. And every sale is an investment in a girl’s confidence.
Cookie booths are open now through March 23. Support a Girl Scout near you, donate to the Gift of Caring program, or text COOKIES to 59618 to find a booth nearby.
